At Refinery Hair, we believe the environment you grow in matters just as much as the skills you learn. Our Co-Stylist Program is an immersive, hands-on training experience built with intention, mentorship, and high standards. It’s designed to support stylists during the most critical stage of their career.

From day one, you are not on the sidelines. You are fully immersed in a real, fast-paced, high-performing salon environment where learning happens through experience, guidance and repetition. You’ll work closely with your educator, support real guests, and develop the technical, professional, and interpersonal skills essential for long-term success in this industry.

This role is hands-on, demanding, and requires presence and intention. We are not focused on rushing the process, we are focused on building a foundation for long term success, consistency, and sustainability. THE ROLE & WHY IT MATTERS

The Co-Stylist role exists to bridge the gap between cosmetology school and confident success behind the chair.

This program is intentionally designed to help you:

  • Build strong technical and professional habits

  • Learn how a successful salon truly operates

  • Develop confidence through real-world experience

  • Grow inside a team that values education and mentorship

We don’t rush the beginning, because how you start shapes everything that follows.

  • Your foundation phase, focused on learning, assisting, skill development, and understanding the Refinery standard. In this phase you will test out on all services, assisting 2-3 days a week and will be seeing guests behind the chair 1 day.

  • This is your transition phase where you will assist 2-3 days a week, and begin taking guests behind the chair 2 days a week, with continued support. Focusing on building consistency in skill and core business practices.

  • You are now a SENIOR co-stylist! You are seeing guests behind the chair 3 days a week consistently, with ongoing education. Focusing on fine tuning and booking days to capacity.

    Everyones timeline is different. Progress is earned through consistency, professionalism, and a commitment to mastery.
